Michigan reports 3,730 new COVID-19 cases, 15 deaths, 15% of people 16+ fully vaccinated

The Michigan health department has confirmed 3,730 new coronavirus cases and 15 deaths Friday, bringing the state total up to 622,151 cases and 15,850 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

In the state’s latest update on vaccines, 70,648 doses were administered in Michigan on Wednesday. The seven-day average for doses administered is 62,378, above the state's goal of 50,000 per day. Of the population 16 and older, 14.9% are fully vaccinated, with a goal of 70% vaccinated by the end of the year.

Of 44,526 diagnostic tests reported Thursday, 3,250 yielded positive results — a positivity rate of 7.30%.

Michigan also reported 65,664 probable COVID-19 cases and 1,007 probable deaths. The probable cases combined with the confirmed cases make up a total of 687,815 cases and 16,857 deaths.
