BRIEF: Allegheny County Health Department accepting entries for annual environmental poster contest

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review - 1/30/2018

Jan. 30--The Allegheny County Health Department is accepting applications through March 9 for its environmental poster contest.

This year's theme is "Healthy Environment, Healthy Bodies" and students are encouraged to think about ideas and solutions to protecting the environment and their health.

Each poster will be judged on creativity, accuracy of information, and the strength of the message.

The top three winners will be announced April 20 in conjunction with Earth Day. The winning students will receive a $75 gift card to Barnes and Noble. The teachers of the winning students will receive a $50 gift card to Staples.

The winning posters will also be featured on the Health Department's website.

Teachers who want to participate in the poster contest can visit the health department's environmental poster contest website at www.achd.net/air/postercontest.html or contact Tony Sadar of the Health Department's Air Quality Program at 412-578-8125 or anthony.sadar@alleghenycounty.us.

The health department has been holding the contest for 19 years.
