More than 200,000 pounds of ready-to-eat hot dogs are being recalled because they could be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically metal, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture'sFood Safety and Inspection Service.

The recall applies to 14-oz sealed film packs labeled "Nathan's Skinless 8 Beef Franks" with use-by dates of Aug. 19, 2017, and also 16-oz sealed film packs labeled "Curtis Beef Master Beef Franks" with a use-by date of June 15, 2017.

The products subject to recall bear establishment number "EST. 296" on the side of the package. The items were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

More than 210,606 pounds of hot dogs are affected by the recall.

John Morrell and Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio, said it had gotten three complaints and notified the U.S. Department of Agriculture'sFood Safety and Inspection Service on Friday.

There have been no confirmed reports of injuries or adverse reactions from the products.

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. The products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
