BRIEF: Two varieties of beef hot dogs recalled, contain metal objects

May 20--WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A Cincinnati, Ohio, company that makes hot dogs is recalling more than 200,000 pounds of two of its brands of beef hot dogs because metal objects have been found in them.

The recalled food, distributed nationwide from from John Morrell and Co., is in packages that bear establishment number "EST. 296" on the side, according to a recall notice from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The specific products recalled are:

? 14 oz. sealed film packages containing "Nathan's SKINLESS 8 BEEF FRANKS," with a Use By date of Aug. 19, 2017.

? 16 oz. sealed film packages containing "Curtis BEEF MASTER Beef Franks," with a Use By date of June 15, 2017.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.

Anyone who purchased these hot dogs should not eat them. The hot dogs should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
