BRIEF: Possible E. coli contamination prompts Pa. farm to issue recall for meats

May 05--Souderton-based Marcho Farms has issued a recall on 5,620 pounds of meat that may be infected with an E. coli-producing toxin.

The veal, beef and pork products were produced on April 11 and April 14, 2017, and distributed to retail stores in Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Virginia. The following products are subject to recall:

The issue was discovered by the Illinois Meat Inspection service May 2, and subsequently reported to the U.S. Food and Safety Inspection Service. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions as a result of consuming the meats. Officials urge consumers to return the meats at the place of purchase or throw the food away.
