Tuna recalled after salmonella outbreak that sickened one in Spokane County

April 17-- Apr. 17--A Spokane County resident was one of four people in Washington reportedly sickened by salmonella linked to tuna, according to the Washington state Department of Health. No Washington residents were hospitalized and all recovered.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the state Department of Health on Tuesday announced the outbreak of salmonella, which affected foods from the brand Jensen Tuna out of Houma, Louisiana. The affected tuna comes from individually packaged, 1-pound bags and sold in 20-pound boxes, according to the CDC.

Thirteen people nationwide have fallen ill, two were hospitalized and none have died, according to the CDC.

Symptoms of salmonella include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
